A hydraulic line ruptured while I was moving hay, so I decided to change transmission oil and filter after I repaired the line. I lost most of the oil onto the ground, and onto me, anyway. The filter housing has given me all kinds of trouble to reassemble. The new filter came with two new square-shoulder seals which seem to be the same size as the one I took out of the tractor. But all three are a very loose fit on the canister cover shoulders when I lay them in place. Each one has a sixteenth of an inch slack when I set it in place. That might still work if the cover was not milled to an interference fit in the housing. I think I'll try to find an oil-resistant o-ring that will fit in the groove provided. Has anybody else had this problem?
