I've always heard guys on here telling people to use the carburetor drill bits to get the secret passages clean. Until today I always thought I could get it "good enough" with sand blasting and soaking, I don't need those fancy drill bits!" Well after fighting a G that would not idle I finally broke down and bought both the #40 and #53 drill bits. I used them tonight and wow that carb was plugged up! I really had to work to get the bits through the rust. After this debacle I will be using the drill bits on every carb rebuild. Thanks to everyone on this site, there is so much valuable info shared on this site!
