I put a new seal in the PTO on my G and it leaks worse than ever. Maybe I did something wrong? I put the seal in towards the back of the tractor in other words as far into the cover as it would go. Maybe it should be flush with the backside or tractor side of the cover? Would it work to leave the seal I have in and then put another one in? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The original seal was a double lip seal. The new seals are single lip so you need to install two of them. The first seal in the cover should have the garter spring facing the rear of the tractor. The second seal should have the garter spring facing the front of the tractor. Put some grease between the two seals and take a file to the pto shaft splines to eliminate any burrs that could cut the lips on the seals.
