Jjohn Deere H head

I removed the four head bolt nuts from my 1940 JD H and I still cannot get the head off, or loose.. Is there another bolt that I'm missing? If not what is the best way to get the head loose. Thanks Basil

There should be 6 9/16 studs with nuts and 1 3/4 oil lead stud holding the head on. The oil lead stud should have a fitting and line on it that goes to the rocker arm.

As greenacres said, there are a total of seven head studs with nuts.

Thanks for the info on the number of bolts. I didn't realize that the rocker arm had to come out to get to the bolts. Thanks again, Basil

dont forget to pull off the head from the engine case a little bit and remove an oil line that feeds the rockers like others have said
you dont want to stretch any lines or damage anything.
