Checking 3020 PS valves

Mornin all. Just came into possession of a 1964 JD 3020 diesel with power shift. I'll need to bar the engine over to check valves and other stuff. I hate to pry on the forward engine hydraulic coupling-- is there a better way to sneak up on TDC and such??

On a syncro tractor there is an inspection hole at the flywheel you can stick a big screwdriver in pry them over. Not sure if the powershift is the same. Tom
 
Found it !! Thanks to both of you. I have had the manuals for only a short time and missed that little paragraph and picture. You probably saved me a coupling repair!
