That's the weak point on them,, I have repaired several like that..One 4430 that was 6 months old..
 
Well that can be fixed with LOTS OF labor. I have three tractors here that I bought broken like that or worse. The housings are usually cheap. Just have to make sure all the shafts are straight.
 
One I know of was hit in the dual wheels on a narrow back road by a 1967 Impala,nether was going very fast,and no
one was hurt ,,it is the weakest point on a older Deere
 
I'm probably going to get to fix it , they have insurance. They caught the axle with a trailer, had this happen several years ago where the owner had a4560 and a4450 hauling round bales and they were meeting each in road gear and hit alxes broke the 4450 just like this and broke off the final drive housing on the 4560
 
I wonder if original design was allowing the use of the duals....I've seen a lot of the original designed tractors broken due to the overloading or so call modernization....
