John Deere 4450 Quad Range problem

Rebuilt transmission with all new bearings,gears,shift forks,and shift cams. Set up by the book. Everything works good except shift from B range back to A range is really difficult. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just a thought , make sure the clutch is fully releasing . Then shift it by hand to make sure the shift rods are adjusted right , Might need a helper in the cab to hold gear shift in place . If the clutch was taken apart was it adjusted with the special tool ? Just a few thoughts hope this helps .

That's my thought too,,shut the engine off and see how well it shifts then..

New permaclutch discs were installed with John Deere tooling. Actually shifts harder with engine not running. It shifts better when you can let tractor roll just a little, will sometimes then slide right in. Thanks everyone.

Is it the same going from A to B as from B to A?

Shifts fine from A to B. All ranges,all gears, and park operate fine except B to A. Seems to depend on how gears are lined up when tractor is stopped for shift. Sometimes it shifts from B to A fine. Thanks.
