JD 1020 3 point problem still

So I now have it so it will stay down with the control lever down but once I move the lever to lift it there is no making it go down with out letting it sit a while. So is it likely that the control valve it self is sticking or some such thing??? The 3 point would go up and down when I started working on this thing 6 months ago but now it will either stay down or go up and stay up. So where do I start looking. If this was a ford I would know what to look for but this being a JD and they are made a bit different not sure where to look as such
Thanks

As I previously stated you need to perform the 3 pt adjustments as outlined in a JD tech manual step by step if you haven't already done so. I have forgotten the number of steps but there's somewhere around 6 to 8 steps. Is spring(key 9) attached internally to cam & rockshaft housing?

All I have i the I-T manual and while it talks about a few things does not seem to cover it well. Guess I'll have to reread the I-T manual and see if I can figure out what there trying to say in it

I have a "real" (John Deere) manual here. Sometime over the weekend I will see if I can get my wife to scan the pages and get them to you.

Thanks that would probably help a lot. I'd like to get my shop empty again so I can work on a couple other tractor that I need to repair

No offence but with all the problems you've had with this thing I just can't understand why you refuse to buy a real Deere service manual. Especially since they are on ebay for 33 bucks. Heck you can even get the Deere cd for less than $50.

No offence but IMHO owner of tractor would be better served being charged for a JD tech manual explaining operation of 3 pt rather than your guessing what's wrong.

That might be true but if I do not get ti working as it should he plans to take it to the JD dealer

I'll bet the cost of JD tech manual won't be a down payment on what a JD dealership will SOAK the owner for to attempt to repair something the dealer technician probably doesn't know anything about.

That well maybe true but before he takes it I plan to go threw all the I-T manual has and see if that will fix it
