Wico X mag Question

I was going through a box of magnetos tonight, that I picked up at a sale and I have Model X mag with a cap for a two cylinder. It's JD green but the impulse coupling is stamped with a lag angle of 12 1/2 degrees and it is set up for clock wise operation. My understand is that JD two cylinder mags are all counter clockwise driven or is there a application where this is correct?

The mag on an LUC engine turns clockwise but has a gear on it. Maybe the gear is missing on yours? What do you want for it?$$

It's set up like a standard X mag with a short lug impulse cup. The cup is stamped for 12 1/2 degrees lag. It might have been adapted to this. I'm thinking of switching it to a standard 30 degree CCW but was curious if there was a JD application for it.

Ron that's the recollection I had but didn't take time to search all my data to confirm it. I also thought the R pony used a reverse direction Wico GOOD CATCH ON YOUR PART

iIf its indeed a 12 1/2 drive cup, then of course you set your lag angle to 12 1/2 degrees

John, the reason I know about these is a guy brought one over and wanted to put it in an A. Need lots of parts to change rotation so I sold him another mag and will sell this one to an R owner. Ron Mn
