4320 valve cover gasket

Valve cover gasket is leaking some oil towards the
cab of the tractor got a new gasket do you guys put
anything with it like permatex black or anything
else? Thanks

i like to glue them to the cover,use 3m weather strip

I do it the same way as Kent, I use clothes pins to keep it in place till the goo sets up a bit.. when you glue them to the head it makes a mess to clean later..

While you have the cover off put a little ultra black permatex around the breather port on the inside of the cover. The sealer after this many years is at its end and needs a little attention. I use a little black silicone on the oring when sliding the breather pipe in, helps slide in and seal. chris

I do the same as Kent and Tim. I put bolts in the holes to keep everything in line as the glue dries. Some gaskets have shrunk somewhat and this helps. Mike
