A starter-- to Kent Peterson

I have attached a picture of the starter out of my 1950 A with the starter switch off and sitting next to it, My questions are:
a. Should that shiny stud that sticks out of the starter body be tilted with its high point pointing toward the flywheel as it is or turned 90 degrees around?
b. Do the contacts in the switch look OK?

Thanks!!

Replace the switch. Looks burnt and they are not much $$ and worth the price. The stud can rotate on the 1108950 starters. Some put the high side towards the flywheel for better contact but should face the other side. They are held in place by a nut on the inside of the housing and normally not soldered to the windings.
