2155 with 175 loader

I have a 2155 4x4 w 175 loader. Bought it 1st of the year, 5500 hours garage kept, full service records, every manual even remotely concerning this model with the exception of the loader. It was the 1st owners baby, his truck in the yard, tractor in the garage. The dealer that sold it to him was the only green dealer ag dealer around for years, father and grandfather bought parts from them.
Now the issue, going to change filters, 2x a year, and noticed the loader supply is plumbed into the
drain plug on the hyd filter via a T with the drain moved over 4 inches. It will certainly make the filter change a PITA. Now I don't think previous owner did this, doesn't seem in keeping with the care and attention he gave the tractor. Service dept for dealer however has a rep of a bunch of knuckleheads. Like I said I don't have a manual on the loader, one on the way, but this at the very least an inelegant way to solve the loader supply issue. Thoughts? thanks

I think you will find the loader RETURN plumbed into a ported hyd.filter cover. If so that sounds like the factory way those were done. You can go to jdparts.com and look at the free parts book on the loader.

There should be a drain plug on the bottom of the transmission case. Drain the oil from there, remove the complete filter housing with T adaptor to replace the oil filter. Remove and clean the precleaner stainer from behind a recessed plug near the oil filter. This should be outlined in the owners manual. Kept properly serviced and not abused, you can easily get over 10000 hours on the unit before any major repairs. Mine has. Good unit, good luck. Ben

As Mike stated return hose from loader valve should be routed to ported hyd filter cover to put return hyd oil back to frt hyd pump which is much better than routing return oil to sump.
