I posted this picture a year or so ago trying to find what year it was and found out from you guys 1939 or 40. The old diary/journal stated in 1944 entry that you could not get farm machinery because of war and had to make corn plows for the tractor. I was reading in the old diary again last night and found October 20 1938 entry about the purchase, paid $675.00 minus $150 for the old Fordson.

Jim, what dealer did your B come from ? I am always interested in the older JD tractors pre 1962 as my dad and grand dad started the JD dealership in Mooresville IN in 1944 around the end of the year. dad sold out in 53-54 and grand dad stayed in till 62 the last 4 years as a slient pardner

I can't read the name in diary real good, faded but looks like E.A.Behlmer. The guy that farms my place in Ripley co., Dad was a JD dealer but later than this. I was going to ask Ted if he has heard the name. I would think dealer location would have been in Ripley or Decatur co. I may not right on the spelling? Ted has a 1939 but doesn't this one is it.

Behlmer Hardware was in Napoleon,IN, there in Ripley Co. I
lived in Decatur Co. for a time. I know a fellow who bought a 520 new there.

I am seeking information on a Deere dealer, Daggett Implement that was in Richmond, my 237 picker has a decal on it from there. I think they closed late '60s.

I remember the JD dealer in Mooresville IN. I believe the Maxwell family from Plainfield area was involved with it before it closed. The building is still there and was most recently a Mahindra dealership.
