when my switch is in the off position the mfwd wont disengage, I have installed a new mfwd solenoid. When I have it the auto position that all works correctly, when I gently apply one or both brake pedals it disengages, what am I missing?
Thanks

I have not worked on a mfwd for a couple years...but if I recall...there is power to the solenoid when it is dis-engaged...no power to solenoid when the clutch is engaged

Check the cube relay that is hanging on a pig tail up on top, under the cowl, there are 2 of them one is probably the one causing the issue.

Yes Ragnarok, that is correct, it takes power to disconnect the front drive, the clutch is spring loaded to the "on" position, the circuit board can also cause the problem,as well as the brake pedal switches,,it can be a confusing nite mare at times.

Yeh...I always liked having to either jack-up the entire front axel to rotate the hubs to check or change the hub oil...or jack up one side and start the tractor...or drive it forwards or backwards to get the hub plugs where I wanted them....

I also thought it nice to remove the mfwd clutch assembly to get the engine oil pan off.
