I have a hydraulic leek coming from my steering wheel. I replaced the seal right underneath the steering wheel but it keeps blowing out the rubber on the seal any help greatly appreciated. Thanks Clay

To be clear there are 6 O rings that seal the two steering valves in the column. To access them, remove the steering
wheel then unthread the bushing in the top of the column. Rotate the steering shaft counter clockwise to remove the
shaft and valves. The O rings (or what remains of them) can then be removed from the steering column. You will need long
picks for this process. The tricky part is the installation. There are grooves in the column that don't take O rings. An
O ring goes in the bottom groove, the next groove is empty then an O ring in the next groove. They are a bear to get in
at times, this is why I leave the column mounted to the tractor. You have a place to sit and the column is stable.
After the rings are in, lube the valve/steering shaft assembly and insert it back into the column.Rotate the shaft
clockwise to settle it into position., install the bushing, upper seal and steering wheel.

My dad bought the Canadian version of your tractor new and replaced the hygard every second year. Eventually it had hydraulic issues
including the steering. Ours had the steering valve o rings replaced by a good local shop using JD parts. It was never right until the JD
dealer did the hydraulics again. Apparently they are known to get bits of brake lining and pto clutch all through the hydraulic system.
