Another SCV Question

There must be an art to this! I replaced poppet valves and tried to adjust. The left side seems to hold after adjusting, but I'm hearing air as soon as I flip lever on right side. No adjusting seems to help. I managed to get snap ring out, parts key 1 and replaced o ring and backup on this valve. The o ring fell apart upon removal and I may have lost a piece in the housing. There are a couple of holes for it to fall into and I could not recover. I did notice the valve at top center with snap ring did not seem to spring all the way back to snap ring upon replacement. What is this valve anyway, and does any comments are appreciated!
 

I'm sorry you're having problems adjusting the set screws but I stated that they weren't easy to correctly adjust. I'll bet you'll wish you sent valve to Tim before you get them adjusted correctly.
 
You are correct Jim! I'm hardheaded and don't give up easily but sometimes some things are best left to the professionals!!!
 
Did you loosen the cam pivot bolt/screw that is under the plugs on both sides? They need to be loosened so they
will adjust then retightened.
If they are still tight they can hold a poppet open a, bit,if this is not your problem recheck the poppet
seat,you will find that it is something simple, Darn it
 
Tim, What is the top center valve for? Is that detent and if its not returning to snap ring could that be part of the problem?
 
Yes that is for detent, if it was sticking you would have trouble moving the control lever. I'm thinking the cam is holding the valve open a bit or a seat is leaking a bit,, it may not leak with oil pressure..I have a feature on my test bench to test for leak by oil. I would be glad to check it out for you, and if you were closer you could watch..
 
Make sure the roller on the end of the detent follower is round. If they get a flat spot they can give you several
nuetral positions.
