Will a 51 b engine fit in a 44 b what may be different other than electric start than hand? Thanks for info.

No they will not unless you are good with a cutting torch and welder. Some of the pullers have done that and even more though.

I believe you CAN bore a 44 B big enough to fit standard late B pistons... not sure if heads will interchange? What more are you looking to do??

Yes the pistons can be put in if you don't hit a sand hole in your casting. I have heard of several that had it done years ago.
The cyl. heads will all interchange from 1941 to 1952. There are 3 different casting numbers but the parts book will sub them all to the later one. The latest one does need to have a different oil lead washer than the others.

era It will bolt right up with a little work. If it has pipe plugs on the bottom you have to grind them down so it will slide into the case. The hole at the back of the block where the oil goes through will be tapped 1/4 pipe thread then in stall a 1/4 to 1/8 reducer so you can attach oil line from the oil pump. If you want can bore it to 4.875 to 4.915 and use GMC truck pistons. Probably lengthen rods to get compression right. Sometimes when you bore it that big will get into water. You can use the 4 13/16 aftermarket pistons which is 1/8 overbore. Lynn
