Would it be possible to use the later rods with the insert bearings.Mine are all most through the babbit.I haven't micked the crank yet so don't know if the crank needs ground.I plan on using new pistons.Thanks for any info on this.Ron

I would definitely update the rods . Shouldn't be hard to find JD 70 rods.

But DO Mike the rods for "Out-of-Round"...Babbitt tolerates way more than an "Insert" will..
