ISO upper idler roller and bracket, (can retro-fit) or other suggestions for parts for my 1953 John Deere 40C crawler 5-roller.

For over 20 years I ran a 5 roller 40C with an oak block on top of a shop made bracket and it worked just fine. I was told that the guys that used them in the woods in the winter all did just that as the original ones would seize up.

Stoney Mountain is out of business, I heard, due to death of owner. Liquidation auction notice was posted at Expo. I sent them a email about a part and have not had a reply.

Try New Paris Tractor Parts in Indiana. I got a top roller shell from them a few months ago. They were far less expensive than anyone else I checked.
