Update on LI painting

I am working on cleaning up the LI, looks like paint under the last paint has less orange, so old industrial paint from JD is not a match.

Some of those LI looked like regular John Deere yellow was used.

Could have been a special color the state/township/county/original owner specified it to be painted. Don't know if the archives would have record of it or not. I have seen a few M's with original paint that were orange and red. If you can find the original paint on the underside of an easy to remove piece any good paint supplier can scan the color and match it

My neighbor has LIs in four or five original colors, painted for different end users. Just a handful of the 300+ he has had over the years...

You are doing the right thing by sluething on the tractor... look on the underside of some casting, or back side of the sheetmetal, and try to get the most "original"color you can, and then have it matched.

Please show it to us when you are done! Or a pic of the original paint. Inquiring minds want to know!
