I have 1946 model gm that makes a noise when running thought it was flywheel but it tight has good oil pressure is I possable to have bad rod bearing and still have good oil pressure

I replaced the clutch and driver is tight on crankshaft splines it was making the noise before I did the clutch thanks for the reply.

maybe a wrist pin. Never heard of that on a G, but have heard of several A's with a wrist pin knock.

I have a 1950 G and had a knock it was the rod bearing on the crank. Tractor had the babbit style in it but I put in the newer style rods with the insert bearings in.
I changed them through the access plate on top of the engine.

When I spun a bearing in my G, it sounded like someone was hitting the inside of the flywheel with a mallet. I had good oil pressure too. Had to go to .030" under rod bearings.

Thanks for the info will check rod bearing next this post says insert it has the babbit rods I was looking for a set of insert rods and put the wrong heading as I thought it might be a rod bearing. Thanks again If some one has a set of insert rods at a reasonable price let me know 760 580 2874
