3000 Ford vs 484 International

Ran across a 484 International and a 3000 Ford with a loader.
Both are diesel and have the same asking price. Haven't
seen either and I'm not familiar with either model. Is either
superior?
 
Asking this in the JD forum is like asking a a blonde if she is smart. LOL Your better off asking this up top in tractor talk where you do not have a green crowd think why red or blue here. Me i would more then likely side with the red one but the 3000 was not known to be a real good one
 

The Ford 3000 that I owned for yrs was a very good tractor but it had no loader installed on it. I also think a IHC 484 would be a better loader tractor than a Ford 3000
 
For mostly loader use, go with the one that has front wheel drive assist and synchronized shift from forward to reverse in the gears you'd normally use with a loader. A little faster in reverse than forward is good too. A power reverser would be great. If neither has these features, go looking for a green one that does.

I think IHC 484 & Ford 3000 rolled off the factory assembly line long before power reverser became a common option. As far as power reversers are concerned I'll choose my Kubota manually operated PR over a JD's later model electronically(relays) controlled PR.
 
In my opinion the 3000 Ford has to be one of the best utility tractors ever made. There are still thousands out there doing a days work. Int. 484 is also a good tractor....I had one yrs. ago, and it served me well. They are both old, but were solid machines in their day.
 

The 3000 Ford diesel was a good little tractor. Not a powerhouse, but reliable and easy to work on. A lot of the parts are still available. It should be a decent loader tractor. What loader is on it? Tube frame? Like a Superior or such, or the Ford loader?
