Hi All John Deeres. I normally hang out in the ferguson forum

I am looking at a 4wd JD 1850 tractor to buy and flip as the people want to get rid of it.

I know very little about JD stuff, excepted they are expensive to fix when it comes to transaxles on ride on mowers)
What are JD tractors reputation in general and anything to look for on this model when buying.

Am in austalia , but what would be the av asking price for this 1850 4wd 55 hp tractor :?: :?:

Cheers

I'll suggest to check operation of hyd system at operating temp with any hyd functions such as pto engaged/disengaged &/or hi-lo in both speeds. Closed-center hyd that don't operate correctly can be a pain to diagnose & costly to repair. Check condition of hyd oil as moisture in oil can be very damaging to brake linings. Also check condition of engine coolant because bad coolant can cause problems such as electrolysis to piston liners.

Deere are not any more expensive to purchase parts for than Cat, Agco and CIH. In fact Deere can have parts on the counter in 48hrs for a 50+ old machine . Go to the other brands parts counter and discover the common compoents for more recent machinery that is "obsolete".
