820 pto clutch

brought my 820 2 cylinder to work to run on the dyno but I left my manuals for it at home, the pto clutch is slipping when I start getting towards 60, could some one tell me what I need to do to adjust the clutch and see if I can get it to hold? would like to try adjusting it before I go home tonight and try it on dyno again so I don't have to haul it down again.

look for a Pipe plug SQ head on L.H. Side of rear housing . Approx 8" back of pto shaft ? On same plane as shaft .remove plug ( need a light) look in hole needs long screw driver ( I think you turn screw in to turn a threaded collar ? The collar spins ( can not remember what direction to tighten clutch)? Turn collar & check clutch tension . Turn screw back out ?? Or in can't remember? Or turn screw back where you started ! It's been 30 years . Someone else chime in .

thanks, i had my wife run the book down to work for me, didn't matter much as i wasn't able to turn the collar to adjust clutch much. probably will have to pull pto clutch and go through it but that's pretty low on the to do list for now.

My 830 pto is buggered too. I took out the plug to access the screw, but the screw won't turn. My clutch has the opposite problem. It's too tight and you can't get the lever to lock over center. Since it's tucked up under the platform, and we only plow with it, I'm not gonna worry about it too much. Some day if I ever have the platform off again, I'll add it to the list of things to repair...
