48 power trol

A few weeks back I posted a question about a power trol issue. that being that it would not lift a disk. Here's what I've done since. First I hooked up a test pressure gauge to power trol. ( let me state that these outlets were plumbed out of the plugs on side of power troll with dummy plugs.)At first pressure was around 750lbs. After a few cycles of power trol lever, pressure held at about 350lbs. This to me seemed low. I reworked outlets with plugs for cylinder. I removed and inspected relief valve spring, looked fine. removed two check valves and poppets, looked fine. removed and checked metering screw, looked fine. Pump looked good when I had it apart 2 yrs. ago, what are your guys thoughts as to my low pressure problem. thanks Greg

The maximum cracking pressure when the relief valve opens is 750 to 790 lbs. on a Model A or B. The working pressure is 610 lbs. When the relief valve opens the powr-trol handle kicks back automatically from Fast Raise to the Neutral position.

When your pressure held at about 350 lbs did the powr-trol handle kick back automatically from Fast Raise to the Neutral position? If it did then one or more special washers need to be added between the relief valve spring and the cover plug to increase the cracking pressure. If it did not kick back the pto driven pump is not producing enough pressure.

I have no idea why your pressure dropped from 750 to 350.

You would want to do the pressure test with a factory set of hose tips plugged into the back. This way you can eliminate the rockshaft cylinder from the test as it may be leaking. Might want to install new O-rings where the tips go first too.
