Need a few #5 mower parts

I"m in need of a few parts for my #5 sickle mower. The part numbers are Z7327h- release spring, Z8887h- rubber pads (need 4)and Z9611H- knife head guide. If you can help me please email me back or call 641-932-8049. Thanks!! Randy G

I have several #5 mowers for parts... very reasonable too... need to clean out my shelves.

I had some luck in the past making the rubber hitch mounting blocks out of old tires. I assume
the release spring is for the breakaway latch.
I had to straighten and rebuild the pivot bars,
then grease or ani-seize the pivot bolt and bushing. The pivot bolt needs a heavy spreader
washer and locknut on top to keep it from loosening up as it pivots during a breakaway. I had trouble with the breakaway pivot on one mower, none on the other. I don't know if the problem was due to my abuse or the abuse of the previous owner(s). I made an early mistake in
using the first mower to mow road ditches and terraces as well as to mow alfalfa and grass hay.
Its hard on the pitman and sickle head to operate a #5 for extended periods of time with the bar
above or below level very far and hard on the
breakaway pivot to have to breakaway when the bar
is working at an elevated or depressed angle.

H22751 Replaces Part Z8887H... about $4.00 @ Deere

Z9611H... about $30.00 @ Deere

I can tell you with great certainty that in a pinch using old flip flop sandals (cut four 1 1/2" x 3" strips) makes a very acceptable substitute for part Z8887H or H22751 pad. Don't ask me how I know! :wink:
