Mystery part believed to be John Deere

I got this in some parts from a Deere collector and can't picture what on earth it is, I believe it's Deere since it has remains of green paint and he had mostly Deere tractors figured someone may recognize it

Looks similar to hook for trace chains on the end of a wooden single tree for mules/horses. I don't have a clue whom the manufacturer might be.

It is the end cap on the wood
eveners for the chains.

Don't believe Deere ever made harness.

Technically single or double tree isn't harness but part of the implement
