Hi, I am wondering if some of you John Deere guys can tell me what one of our "D" tractors would be worth? My father was somewhat of a collector and is now to feeble to work on any of his old tractors. We have everything from JD,Case, Allis C, International Etc. I have one guy interested in one of the "D's" but not sure what to ask for it. I have attached pictures and a picture of the serial plate. Hopefully someone out there can give me an idea of what to ask for it.

Your dad's D is a '27.......You need to find just the right person, & just a ballpark guess is 2000-2500. Hope it finds a good home.
 
Thanks jddrawbar, That gives me a place to start from. I will probably work on some of these closer to retirement but there are to many to keep. The engine still turns by hand on this one so i figure that is a bonus point
 
I seen a fence row styled D on steel like your dads and it was stuck in the same condition as yours sold at a local farm auction and it brought 1500. With yours being a Unstyled and older being a earlier tractor it should bring more like jddrawbar stated to the right person.
