Question I have outer-race in axel housing fitting a little loose .Im thinking of taking punch denting it up @ 10 -2 position .Then putting locktite #660 good for 300 degrees temp, 0.20 max clearances ,I think 3,800 psi . I'm thinking just to hold from spinning in housing (The guy at bearing house said not to punch housing it would show up on bearing race where rollers ride you'll see every punch in housing? What you think? Machine is not going to see another 2000 Hr. Thanks

Clean it up, use Loctite and forget the center punch. The bearing fellow is correct. All you will do is make the race out of round by forcing it past punch marks.

I have used the 660 product on many lightly spun bearings in transmissions. I have one in the Hi-Lo clutch pack on a JD 4430 I repaired 22 years ago. It has 10,000 hours on the repair.

(quoted from post at 04:31:44 06/12/17) Could you punch from 4 to 8? The load on the race will be at the top won't it? If it is the outermost bearing.
lows it is the outermost bearing & Seller I like the thought of 10,000 HR. On your fix. The( other party) before me ran axel loose,LIKE 1/4" axel movement up / down . Oil running out of seal &axel on wheel. Probably that what took out transmission pump . Keeping trans low on oil . I'll try to get kids or wife to post photos. For you & others to see . Thanks (how do not Dubble post ) from last reply??? I think I'm doing something wrong?
