JD730 color

Deere used paints from different suppliers. Ironically, "Classic Green" is a fairly new paint and is a marketing ploy for sales to owners of old tractors. No tractor was ever painted classic green from the factory. Ag Green looks better as the classic gives a slightly faded look.

The Classic has a darker kind of blue color to it and is what JD recommends for the tractors older than 1973 or 30 series introduction. The Ag Green has a little more yellow tint to it. This is for the newer stuff.

Correct. Classic was never used as a factory paint. When I was a Parts Manager this was told to us by internal Deere people. "It helps us sell paint" was their answer. Mike

More and more it's all about "Marketing"... There seems to be a different shade between Classic and New Green paint or is that not correct..

I ended up getting a quart of Ag green and painted up the little 130 today. The steering parts and decals should be here this week, so looking at getting it operational next weekend. The hole is oval where the steering shaft goes through the dash, but it will be OK for now. I wore the tires smooth when I was little, but no cash for them right now, maybe next year. My dad had welded up the bolster and steering shaft at least once, but the bolster is bent, so those are getting replaced. I replaced the sprocket and chains a few years ago.

The wagon is really rusted, will need sandblasting, fill and sand to clean that up, I will have to do it, because will bug me to see crappy looking wagon and nice tractor.
