GP steering hard !

The steering on my 1931 GP is impossible to operate when stopped , and difficult when moving .I have taken the box and spindles apart , cleaned and reassembled to spec. The steering is still difficult , is this normal ?
 
My 29GP is hard to steer when not moving. A little better when moving, but it still has the factory "Armstrong" power steering.
 
After getting my 30 GP restored enough to roll out of the garage and start, it is a little hard to turn when not moving. I rebuilt the front end bushings and thrust bearings on both sides. Bought the parts from McMaster Carr. I have not looked into the steering box yet. I wonder if my tractor would steer easier on steel wheels instead of rubber. How were your ball thrust bearings on the bottom of the king pins? Mine were very rusty but intact. The bronze bushings were very worn as well.

The ball thrust bearings were ok ,
I removed and washed with diesel , oiled with STP ( may have made a mistake ) ,reinstalled and greased bushing thru fittings. Steering box was rebuilt 2 years ago. Still no help . Thanks for the interest. GEMALO
 
the kind to tread on the front tires makes a difference . The high center or single rib really helps if you don't care about looks . Mostly its "ARMSTRONG STEERING WHILE MOVING".
 
After running my GP around the yard and one parade, it is getting easy to turn. I can accually turn it with one hand when stopped. Maybe the more you use yours it will free up.
