John Deere 535 help

The tie arm on my 535 has started going from the home position (next to the twine cutting knife) to the other side and stopping there as I start to make a new bale. It lets me get to about a size 2 bale before it starts this problem. I can get out and check the pump and the fluid is always low. I can add fluid and the arm will go back to the home position and stay there until I make a full bale. Any idea what is causing this?

The pump drive is not relatching when the bale is discharged. Further operation will result in the filler cap melting
and falling into the pump and failure of the pump. Check that the FIVE springs are all in place and accounted for.
Clean the area of the pump of all debris. Find the leak for the pump fluid. check for the free movement of the spool
in the valve. Might need a few drops of oil to move freely when tripped.

Ditto what Roger stated. Spool valve is located towards the front of pump with spool pointing upward. I've witnessed dirt/hay build up at spool area stopping twine mechanism from resetting when tailgate is closed.

I wanted to thank you for your help it was a spring! Thank you for saving my pump and for an easy fix I could do myself
