Which would you rather have. I bought a 50 a few weeks ago. Did a little work to it and probably have 1200 in it. My friend has an A that needs some work. Engine is stuck. I think he would pay what I have in mine and give me his. Would you rather have a A or the 50? A is pretty weathered and I don't have a pic but do of the 50.

Me, I'd keep the 50 for sure, especially if it has the live pto and or power steering options.

(quoted from post at 21:45:46 05/20/17) Are you going to use it or is it a toy for plow days or parades?

For a toy I would want the A.
It is mainly a toy. I have more Oliver's than I can drive and I have a 3010 that is my go to tractor. The A would be a project. I don't really need another one of those right now.

Based on the information given above, I would rather have the Model 50.

I guess I should've asked which one is more collectable or worth more?
The 50 is definitely more usable and nicer. I think the A is a 1948.

The 50.. Unless you travel a lot on the highway the 48 A will run down the road faster.
The 50 will use a lot less gas... Your 50 is a early one , I suppose without P/S?? Loss of live PTO
& Hyd. I'd still want the 50..

Nope. No power steering. Hydraulics work good. I haven't tried the PTO. Got the clutch tore apart right now and carb is in the shop.

I love A's---I have 3 of them. I also have two 50's. I use the 50 on my no. 5 mower. You can't beat that power steering for a job like that. My particular 50 does not have the live PTO but that isn't a big deal for that job.

As mentioned, for going down the road the A is definitely faster.
