John Deere D/ 70 Diesel

When my neighbour receives the TOP end Gaskets ( I shall be involved installing the HEAD), I'll record the VALVE NUMBERS and report back:

Bob..

Take a look at the [b:654c4848f0]CYLINDER HEAD. VALVES. AMD TAPPETT COVER[/b:654c4848f0] diagram for the Model 70 Diesel.

Note the intake valve (Key 21) part no. [b:654c4848f0]R 57 R[/b:654c4848f0].

Take a look at the [b:654c4848f0]VALVE ASSEMBLY[/b:654c4848f0] diagram for the Model D Styled.

Note the intake valve (Key 16) part no. [b:654c4848f0]D 3411 R[/b:654c4848f0].

This same intake valve was also installed on the Model D Unstyled tractor beginning with serial number 109944.

Hope this helps.

Bob...the original 70 diesel head (F1958) had the R57R smaller intake valves. The F3211 and F3511 heads had the larger intake valves. F3211 heads had injector tubes and seals and the F3511 did not. Sounds like you have the best head. Good luck!
