JD Two Cylinder Demonstrators

Thanks to all the responses to the other post about the JD 30 series black dashes. Sorry for the confusion, but yes I was talking about two cylinder tractors.

Another question along the lines of this topic. The photo here is of a green dash on a 30 series JD. Supposedly it was a demonstrator. My dad has a Farmall Cub that has white paint underneath red paint and doing research with the serial number, found out it was a demonstrator. Did JD do the same thing? Did they repaint the tractor before selling it? Along the lines of the dash, it's green like they didn't mask it off, except for the tach. Plus, underneath the chipped paint in this photo, I don't see any black. (Anything could have been done to this particular tractor I suppose, but I am asking about what JD actually did)

Deere didn't offer a demonstrator tractor per se like IH did with the white ones or Case with the Black Knights.
It's hard to say why an 830 would have a green dash since the late 820s already had the black dash. I'd be pretty skeptical about the old guys story about it being a demonstrator although it could have merely been a tractor that the dealer used to demonstrate the 30 series new features.
