I am hunting for the last rear stripper bar on a steel wheel JD hay rake under the reel. Im told that there are 2 available, but I cant seem to worm my way into finding someone who knows how to access them for me. Anybody knowing of a JD dealership that has been in the same family for 50yrs can you give me their name and Ph#? Thanks.

Any Deere dealer should be able to tell you where it's at if they will cooperate with you,and you have the part number, they can search the Deere system and also Non currant parts that are still in the system..

I really have to agree with Tim S, any dealer should be able to look it up by part number.

Dealers from 50 years ago are rare now, mega dealers around here are now owned by doctors.

Is there any way that you can post a picture of exactly what you are wanting?

I have an old JD rake that probably has a well worn part that you can use, but I don't want to go shooting in the dark removing parts.

My old rake has a broken gear in the head drive, but is basically all original as far as I can tell.

Did you look for a dealer that would contact Parts Depot to acquire the part(G6049E) that you want??? Try calling one of the following phone numbers 731-352-2373 or 920-849-2660

Mine had a broken center gear. I welded up the broken and worn teeth on it then ground them down. I had to replace also one of the gears on the outer end of the X that holds the reel rods.
BUT, If you want to take off a stripper as they call it, a bow as I call it, what im needing is the LAST stripper/bow that is underneath the reel. It is the last one underneath the reel that is towards the tail wheel s. It is around a inch wide, and held on by a bolt on each end.
If that dosnt help you, please let me know what more information you need, and I will surely reply. Thanks ALOT

Thanks for the humor.....I heard all doctors have become paupers due to ACA...but now know that they have become John eere dealers. Instead of fixing hearts they are now fixing injector pumps. LOL

I went out to look at it, as I moved to where I am now and havnt thought much of it since moving. I thought it had just the end stripper/bow missing. It has it and also its next neighbor going inside. Its shaped in width the same as the last one.

Is this the piece that you're needing (plus the next inner one)?

This rake is on 15" rubber tires, and I don't know if that makes any difference, since yours is on steel wheels.

Ill tell you what. Look up the Ph# of P&K implement Co. There a big JD Dealership with 3, THREE stores in 3 different towns in Okla. I looked up the one in Enid Okla. Tell them you want the stripper bow for a Steel wheel side rake. Tell them the model #s are 596, 553, 594, 522, 350 714, 594LW. See what they tell you. If you get as far as I got with that which is no where, you might try G6049E
