Hi there everyone, I'm new to the forum but it seems like a very friendly and helpful community, so I will likely become a regular contributor/reader... I just purchased a JD 1040 with the understanding that it was a 12v system (I researched it on tractordata before purchasing and also asked the owner, who was admittedly not that mechanically inclined...) unfortunately I didn't spend a whole lot of time looking at the batteries when purchasing it, however when I got it home I noticed it's actually 2 6v batteries wired in parallel, so it's actually wired 6v, not 12v. Could it be that they are running a 12v tractor on 6v? or is it more likely that tractordata is wrong and it actually is a 6v system? What's the easiest way to tell whether it's supposed to be running 6v or 12v config?
Thanks in advance for any assistance!
