Some of you will recall my questions about a 4640 that seems to be having air conditioner problems due to electrical problems.
Last week my son was spraying and shut the tractor off while he did some fixing on the sprayer. When he tried to start it again it would barely turn over.
After looking things over we noticed that the wire that goes from the lug on the back of the alternator to the right spade terminal was broken. At that time I noticed the date on the alternator and since it was 12 years old I decided to replace it, since while this was the first time the tractor was dead, so many things pointed to low voltage.
Anyway long story short, I replaced the alternator and the air conditioner has worked since.
