I just got done putting new (used) 2speed,clutch pump and clutch shaft after old one exploded. Now when i push clutch there is very little resistance and grinds gears. So i am guessing the perma clutch is also out now too

Tractor got ran low on oil last fall refilled and ran everything worked ok 2 speed a little noisy. This spring drove it to field started plowing and 2speed let loose dissambled tractor in field found carrier had failed and clutches burnt up. Replaced unit, clutch pump, and clutch shaft. Now gears grind when clutch is in and trying to put in gear. Did find center screen in trans full of debris cleaned all 3 screens and changed filters and oil.my service manual is at work but i am going to check pressure. I am guessing clutch also burnt up do to lack of lube.

I have not ever seen that before,,but that does seem to be the reason,,can you get it into gear at all ?? and by "Clutch Shaft" do you mean this shaft ??

Yes that is the shaft, you can put tractor in gear and start it with clutch disengaged and tractor will not drive. Drove tractor 2 miles home today clutch lube pressure stays about 30 psi when warm and deriving.

May be a little but not much but only ran for about 15 minutes. Thinking about it if clutch was without lube it would have welded itself together and would not release even with clutch disengaged

Well there are a few things to think about, I have never seen the clutch on a 8430 cause what you are getting,,and was it okay "before" you changed the clutch shaft,,and since it don't seem to actually slip,,the clutch must be sort of okay,,,I can't think that anything would have slipped out of place when the shaft was changed out, but "maybe" a disc some how slipped over the edge of the clutch drum,,I kinda thinking out loud here...the problem nearly has to be centered in the clutch, and I do believe you mentioned having a gauge on the clutch port and the pressure did go to zero with the pedal down...They are no fun to split, that is for sure and for a clutch repair I would use method "B" and roll the front end with the engine in it...I have been thinking about this as I work today,,but so far I am not much help,,darn it...

Ran tractor on 23 foot disk yesterday for about 3 hours. Tractor pulls good clutch does not slip shifting is better at higher engine speed verse idle. In all it does seem better running it my guess is clutches have a little warp in them and are hanging. Hopefully i can finish tillage and tear in to it after finally drying out here in Ohio
