Ok so i have a serious oil leak from the transmission into the bellhousing clutch are. Looks as the leak is from around the outer input shaft that goes from the clutch into the transmission. There are two input shafts into the transmission the smaller one goes through the larger i assume one is transmission the other is pto. Heres the question, i removed the two freeze plugs but cant figure out how to remove the shaft that supports the pto throw out bearing forks and second question is do i remove the shafts by removing the 4 bolts from behind the throw out bearings or do i have to split the tractor again at the next section back to access seals from the back?

Ok so went to John Deere in Springfield and the service manager was a great help. Dug through the manuals with me and showed me how to proceed and what to look for. Also the pin according to the book drives out from right to left. Press fit no keys but i didnt need it out anyway. Thanks

ok so have it split so i can pull the shaft out the back. There is another shaft that appears is going to have to come out to get shaft i need to replace seal and bearings in. Questions is it looks like some needle bearings that will fall out when i remove that shaft, is there atrick to getting these needle beatings out or will they stay put when i remove this other shaft?

About to take this thing to the sale barn. Just put tractor back together for the third time, This time removed the transmission clutch housing and put in the rear seal and bearing, put it back together and guess what its leaking again. John Deere part diagram not much help. Is there a seal around the tube the transmission shafts go through where it mounts to the rear of the clutch housing (Tube that throw-out bearings ride on)? looks like I can remove throw out bearings, clutch forks then 4 bolts where it mounts to rear of clutch housing.I cant imagine it leaking in this area but appears there are only 3 possible points of entry into clutch housing and I have already replaced the other two.
