Correct me if I'm wrong, but ALL JD 20 and 30 series tractors used a big yellow decal on the side of the hood and NEVER any yellow paint...
 
The 20 series had the aluminum strips that
attached to the hood with clip and said John
Deere. The model number was on the side
covers towards the rear of the engine. The
early 30 decals were thinking metal strips
that were glued to the hood and said John
Deere and the model. The later 30s had
stickers. The metal strips for the 30 are
nla and sub to stickers.

I think they are referring to two cylinder 20 and 30 series tractors, and you are referring to new generation like the 2020 and 2030...
