I've read a lot of articles about units that keep blowing compressors. Dealers keep replacing them under warranty until they tell the owner it's yours now, my freind. I've got a 2555 that I thought I could clean the lines with evaporust. In my dreams I could, but if youve blown a compressor you might as well throw all those old lines away. A/C systems have to be thoroughly clean. Dirt, moisture, and air are enemies of a long life ac system. Once they get in there they have an acid party and we all know what acid does. I replaced everything on the 2555 and went back to an A6 compressor. I think next time I'll use the old fashioned rubber lines all the way to the connections and clamp on fittings. Less metal, less trouble. If anyone out there is ever topping their system off, always remember to BLEED AIR (can up) out of your hose before you screw it down far enough to open that schrader valve. Keep your machine (and your brain) clean, they both work better.
