John Deere M hydrualics

My John Deere M will not lift my KBL disk. It will raise the drawbar fine with no load. There are no visible leaks and the oil level is good. I have the service manuals for this tractor and will start testing as directed. I'm wondering if it may be bypassing internally. Any comments and experiences?

Years ago I had the same issue and the "head", item #20 was cracked allowing oil to blow by the piston.

With the lift raised up (no implement attached) can you push the lift back down? Oil is by-passing some where internally.

I would park it uphill and drain the old oil out and refill it with 30wt NON detergent motor oil. You would be suprised how much better a tired lift works with that inside.
