Looking at 4055 power shift that has a four post canopy.Would I hurt the value by having it removed.I personally don't like the 4 post but like the 2 post.Actually had a 4455 Mexican that came with 2 post and looked good. What do you think?

I cannot comment on the value question.

I personally agree with you, the two post looks much better. My only concern would be vibration if you put the canopy on.

The other consideration is workmanship. If the work is like a redneck did it vs factory I would think it would hurt the value. How do you propose to remove the four post? If cut off they should have tops welded on, etc. Maybe you have some other proposal that is better than that.

Just my two cents. I have a friend that bought at an auction a 4x4 4055 PS with SGC. It is coming to my place for a new cab liner. I am leaning a lot on these 50 and 55 series tractors.

I put my 4200 3x18 rollover plow on the 4250 today. I can't wait to try it.

I would leave the 4 post on there,, they provide nice shade and safety,,and they don't vibrate like the 2 post do,,to me they look more normal on a newer Gen that a 2 post..

I wouldn't be putting anything back on as I don't like the noise but like the look.It would be done nice or I wouldn't do it.Just like open station tractors which they made a few 4050s but nothing bigger. The Mexican 4455 was a different deal as they were syngro only and had smaller 3 3/8 axles and smaller 3 pt.Hoping to get a 4440 and 4240 true open stations I know about.Open stations are nice from 50 to 75 degrees then I like the comfort of a cab.Just seems like mowing and raking hay its nice to feel the breeze.

I think would hurt the value.
I gather you are just going to cut the
four-post off at the fenders and not
going to try installing a two post?

I agree with the open air part Larry, we still have a 4240 true open station with a turbo on it,,a fun tractor to gin around with..
