Update on Deere timing issue for old

Took a looK last night and yes the cam and crank are out of order!! IT does have timing marks. That as far as I got on that situation.

I'm late on this but FYI this may or may not help.

IFFFFFFFFFFFF the flywheel is in the correct crankshaft spline, when the flywheels LHI mark is lined up with the flat mark on the tractor side in the 3 O Clock position, the LEFT piston is at TDC, and IFFFFFFFFFFFFFF the cam is timed to crank correctly and IFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF the governor is timed to cam correctly, the female slot in the governor shaft end (where mag drive mates into) WILL BE FLAT HORIZONTAL FORE N AFT.

Right when the flywheels LHI passes the flat 3 o clock mark is then the mag (if so equipped) snaps and impulses so it fires the left piston at TDC. If too soon it kicks back if to late harder to start

Hope this helps
