JD 4240 head on JD 4230

Only problem is list doesn't take into account of serial break for different type of injectors utilized.
 
My guess is it will work, but there is a difference in injectors,, 3 different ones as far as the threads and lines..the delivery of the nozzles would not make a lot of difference for average use, the early 4230 used a pencil nozzle, then they went to a larger screw in nozzle,that had a "Y" shape, then the newest one was a large straight nozzle and it would be the same as a 4240,,the early large nozzles had 2 different threads in the head as well as the injector lines. If you were using the 4240 head on the early 4230 you can get lines for the newer head and change the fittings in the older injector pump to match the lines..A 4430 head will not work on the 4230 because the valves will hit the pistons, you would need to mill reliefs in the pistons to make that work.
 
Much appreciate the info on the differences.
I will get some more data on his engine and see what will work.
