Cleaning out radiator top and bottom tank

I have my radiator apart and waiting for the core to arrive. What's the best way to clean out the corrosion from the top and bottom tank in my shop vs. sending it out?

I've dismantled probably eight styled 'Ds" and five 620 Rads. Never a JD "B". The 620's had to be wire buffed as 50/50 Glycol based coolant was used.

The D's must have used RAW WATER. The Top and bottom tanks were so bad I used a GLASS BEADIER /SAND BLASTER. The corrosion was so bad,a Devcon product was used to fill in and cover the inside of the bottom Tank. One tank was so bad, most of the center portion of the bottom tank was cut out, and a piece of either 1/4" or 3/16" flat plate brazed In.

The bottom and top Rad covers JD "D," were then covered with a coat of GLYPTOL RED PRIMER. This PRIMER was applied on the HEADER CAPS on all Heat Exchangers in the POWER HOUSE that used RAW RIVER water as a coolant.

Glyptol # ? I no longer remember the No.

I have sandblasted many of them. On the eroded away gasket surfaces I had machine shops resurface them on the broach or big belt sander they use for cyl. heads.
