B oil primimg

Doing a complete rebuild of the engine and oil pump. How should I go about priming the oil system and engine before start up. I though about
taking the pump back apart and packing with Vasoline but worried it may clog it up until hot and that might do more harm than good. Also
thought about using a pump sprayer filled with oil and connecting it to the oil gauge nipple on the crankcase and turn over the crank. I am
going to use assembly lube on the cam lobes and bearings during assembly.

The pump is "self primed". It is in the bottom of the sump, add oil, turn engine over and it will pump. I just did that to a B, got oil out the rod oil holes before the rods installed. 2 qts is enough to start with.

With the spark plugs removed- just spin the motor over a few turns. That will pump oil all through the oil galleys.
