GT275 Bagger - 38 inch Deck

All,

I just recently purchased a very clean GT275 John Deere riding mower with a 38 inch deck. Since that time, I have been searching for a used bagging system to go with it.

I cannot seem to find one anywhere.

Do I need the power blower system or would a modern day 38 inch deck bagging system with standard chute and appropriate blades work? I can buy a new one for approximately $600 from a dealer but paid $1200 for the tractor, didn't seem to make economic sense. Looking for some guidance from someone that knows.

Please help.

Then too, the Deere parts web site will tell you what bagger is needed for what mower on what tractor. If you have trouble with that, the Lawn & Garden sales guy at a good Deere dealership should help you.

For a JD GT275 with a 38 inch deck you would just need the chute and the HIGH lift bagging blades. The bagger and mounting bracket would be the same as the one used on a 48 or 54 inch deck on a JD GT275. Also the exact mower that is gear drive would be a GT 262. So the bagger would work off it as well. The smaller GT 242 should work too.

I think the chute and bagger bracket would be the same as the one used on the LX series of that age. This would be LX 172,176,178, and 188.

(quoted from post at 21:01:34 04/24/17) Also where are you located??? I may have the chute that would work.

I'm located in Cumberland, Rhode Island. About 40 minutes south of Boston, MA.
