bought a 1020 diesel with 3200 hrs. Was a chore tractor on a cattle/hay farm. All systems go with the exception of steering side-
to-side play. Turn wheel to the right and the shaft screws out about 316 inch before turning the wheels. Conversely, to the left
it screws back down before turning the wheels. Steers easily with no chatter and no leaks, just has about 60 degrees of play.
Parts page shows an "adjuster" AT19858. Tech manual states use of JDH-41-2 Steering Adjuster tool. No picture, but it is probably
a spanner wrench of sorts. Should this adjustment take the play out of the steering? What does one use instead of a JDH-41-2?
By the way... needed a #2 injector line. Mother Deere had to make one up. I got it, bag tag AT 18099, but inside was a #1 line AT
18065. Drat. Multiple wraps of teflon tape stopped the leak... for now. Hope Deere finds a #2 line soon.
